Things are going really good for the babies. Last week we got a call from my grandpas nursing home that we needed to call in hospice for him. We knew he was getting really bad but it is still hard to hear. He has always been here and it will be hard when he's not. Grandpa has only seen sissy 1 time and that's when she was around 1 month old. Last week we brought grandpa home to be with us his last days. At the end of last week I took Emily over so she could see her papa. It was really heartbreaking for me. Of course I had a minor break-down but I pulled it together. My older son is very close to my grandparents and I guess it's sad that neither of these two will remember him. She sat next to him and put her head on his pillow it was really sweet. I of course took pictures. I don't think gpa knew who any of us were that day but I know he felt the love. Just as we were leaving I looked back in on gpa and told him we were going to take Emily home and he opened his eyes and mumbled home. I said yeah we have to get her back home. I put her on his chest and he patted her little butt and gave her a kiss. Something that will probably always stick in my mind.

We ended up getting Sis home the day before Thanksgiving....I wasn't real happy with that she should have not been in there that long anyways...But all her regular doctors were gone for the weekend so we had some Newbies wanting to change stuff with her. Needless to say when her docs came in on Monday they weren't too happy either.....
Thanksgiving was great....we went to Doug's parents for a couple of hours and ate lunch and then I came home and cooked a massive meal....I love cooking for Thanksgiving....and it was only for me and Doug ....Tyler had gone with his dad for the night....we ate leftovers for a week...
Emily continued to do really well but we were starting to have nurse troubles AGAIN.....I'm just not real big on someone arguing with me about what's best with my daughter when I've been intimatly involved in her care for 2 years....and then there was the incident with feeding her in the wrong tube and of course arguing with me about it and saying OH WELL..... then like two days later she was really rude to me and to Doug and he said that was it.....Make the call. I hated to do it so close to Christmas but I couldn't handle the stress anymore and I had just taken my grandpa to a nursing home so I was really stressed.
Christmas was awesome....I took Emily out of bed and put her in her chair while dad helped her open gifts, big brother helped bubba and they were all smiles as I was snapping away with the camera. It was nice and relaxing for a change...for the past two years we have celebrated xmas eve with Tyler and made the drive to Glennon with bubba to see sissy...........so it was a nice change.
The beginning of January Sis had a follow up at Glennon and they were amazed by how well she was doing! The doc decided to come down on some vent settings and hopefully soon try a trach collar...minus the vent....You have to remember she's been home for almost 3 months and the one doctor didn't give her 3 days and she would be back sick with something....I told him NOT if I had anything to do with it!!!!
For the past several weeks we have came down like the doc. suggested and next week we will be where she needs to be for trials...I am soooooo excited....then hopefully they will put a voice box on her it's been so long since i've heard her little voice...
