I was so upset my last post I didn't even tell you about their birthday party...It went great. We took up a huge cake and some punch, got sissy all dolled up, the chaplain said a prayer and we sang and celebrated. Some of the nurses from NICU and PICU came up to see them and wish them a happy birthday. Emily's nurses spoiled her with gifts...Doug's parents came up and My aunt came up. We also had a special friend Lucas and his parents come. They helped me get this blog started. It was a nice day. Bubba played in the cake while sissy took a nap in her room. lol
Now as of yesterday I got a call from the Glennon social worker.....and I think that it was one of the best calls I've ever had, (besides the one saying I was pregnant). She told me to sit down. Then she told me my letters worked. We had 2 companies interested in helping Emily come home. The one would supply the ventilator while the other would supply the respiratory therapist and all other equipment. So we're going up on Tuesday, she'll be getting her home vent and we'll be getting some training. I can't put into words how happy we are. I feel after 2 years I can finally take a deep breath. I feel like I've been running a marathon and I can see the finish line. There is tons to do to prepare for her arrival so I'll make this post short. I can't thank these two companies enough for what they've done.....mostly thank God for touching them and for always being with us every step of the way..................
